Danger; hazard

Potential source of damage (IEC 61511 :2017).

Risk; risk

Combination of the probability of damage and its severity (IEC 61511 :2017).

Accident scenario; scenario

A sequence of events leading from an initiating event to a (major) accident, whose sequence and logical links are derived from the risk analysis. In general, several scenarios can lead to the same hazardous event, which can result in a (major) accident (definition taken from the circular dated May 10, 2010).
