Ergonomics approach
Ergonomy - An approach at the service of prevention

The ergonomic approach is comprehensive (multi-criteria), iterative and structured, in collaboration with the personnel concerned. As such, it draws on the company's skills and the ergonomist's scientific knowledge of work.

A participatory approach based on progressive validation, the ergonomic approach corresponds as closely as possible to the definition of a preventive approach. It is always based on a request from the company, and is generally built around a number of different stages (figure ):

• analysis of the initial demand, to identify the problem posed by the company;

• a global approach to the situation, to set the framework for the study (initial description of work situations through global observation);
