4. Event tree

The event tree is the simplest of the three trees presented here. It embodies a very natural approach that everyone uses in a less formalized way: "if such and such an event happens, what happens? Unlike fault trees (and sometimes even cause trees), an event tree is generally quite simple, and while software can help to present it correctly and make the calculations, they can be processed "by hand".
