2. Product hazards
Given the flammable nature of the contents of aerosol cans, as well as certain elements of their packaging (cardboard, wood and plastic, which are likely to generate or sustain a fire), and the relatively large quantities of liquefied gases stored, the storage of aerosol cans presents a significant fire risk.
This section briefly describes LPG products (butane and propane), dimethyl ether and some alcoholic solvents (flammable liquids), the main flammable products used in aerosol products.
