Impact study: establishing the initial state

Don't systematically copy all the detailed information gathered in databases on subjects whose activity will have little or no impact. It is often the case that databases are very extensive and provide many details; only those of interest to the project under study should be retained.

Examples of information on road traffic: the services of the Direction Départementale des Territoires (ex-DDE) have very detailed data on road traffic for the main traffic arteries (number of vehicles in each direction, percentage of heavy goods vehicles, breakdown by day, time of day, night, etc.).
