Importing a substance into the EEA, determining who is responsible for placing it on the market within the meaning of the REACh regulation

Distributor

Any natural or legal person established within the Community, including a retailer, who only stores and places on the market a substance, either on its own or in a mixture, on behalf of third parties.

European Economic Area

The European Union member states, Ireland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

Manufacturing

The production or extraction of substances in their natural state.

Manufacturer

A natural or legal person established in the Community that manufactures a substance within the Community.

Import

The physical introduction into the customs territory of the Community.
