5. Conclusion
In order to facilitate explanation of the method, the examples presented in this article have been deliberately simplified as far as possible. This method has been tested and applied on TechnipFMC engineering projects using a tool specifically developed in-house.
The method developed by TechnipFMC has the advantage of calculating detection performance taking into account an exhaustive and adaptable list of leak scenarios, with dispersion models for each of them weighted by the associated probabilities of occurrence. It also offers performance comparisons for different detector positions, as well as optimal detector layouts in terms of overall detection performance.
