The right to preserve one's health is a fundamental human right (cf. the World Health Organization's definition of health: "The enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of race, religion, political belief, economic or social condition", Revised European Social Charter 1996, articles 2 and 3).
