In this article, no distinction is made between explosion types.
In fact, in the far field, wave decay is virtually identical, regardless of the original explosion (gas, solid explosive, nuclear...).
This can be reduced to a consideration of the energy released by the explosion; a given overpressure peak is then associated with a duration.
As it propagates through the environment, the intensity of the wave decreases and the front of the overpressure wave stiffens, taking on the shape of a shock wave
