6. Emergency situations and available resources

6.1 POI/PPI for ICPE

One of the steps involved in transporting LPG is loading, filling or unloading at a storage site. These sites are classified installations for environmental protection (ICPE). In particular, those subject to high-level authorization must have an internal operations plan (POI), under the responsibility of the company manager, which specifies the operational response to an event whose consequences remain within the establishment. When the event or its immediate or potential consequences extend beyond site boundaries, a special response plan (PPI) is activated under the responsibility of the prefect.

These two systems can be supported by the facility's own resources, or by the resources of the departmental fire and rescue service.
