6. Tests
Their purpose is to experimentally determine the filtration coefficient ko, the permeability Bo of the clean bed, the retention function F () and the pressure function G (). They can be carried out either in the industrial plant, or by means of a small-section pilot unit. In both cases, it is first necessary to determine the evolution of the retention profile or that of the concentration profile y (z), as well as that of the pressure profile giving the pressure drop dp (z).
