2. There are many possible uses for reusing wastewater
The reuse of treated wastewater (REUT) from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) is already common practice in many countries, primarily for agricultural irrigation (32%). It is also used for watering green spaces (20%), in industry (19%), for groundwater recharge (2%), and, to a lesser extent, for drinking water production (2%). The global distribution of treated wastewater (TW) uses can be found in Figure 2 .
