The reuse of treated wastewater (REUT) from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) is already common practice in many countries, primarily for agricultural irrigation (32%). It is also used for watering green spaces (20%), in industry (19%), for groundwater recharge (2%), and, to a lesser extent, for drinking water production (2%).
