Odors: your main obligations

The departmental prefect (prefect of police in Paris) is the competent authority to intervene in the fight against odors generated or likely to be generated by facilities classified for the environment.

In carrying out its mission, the prefectoral authority is assisted by environmental inspectors, in charge of inspecting ICPEs and noting infringements (cf. Knowing the different controls linked to the status of classified installation for the protection of the environment
