3. METEOR method
METEOR, for method to evaluate overpressure, is a method to help determine the maximum explosion overpressure of industrial units. This method has been developed by TechnipFMC and implemented in a software package bearing the same name.
The METEOR method aims to estimate the maximum overpressure of a UVCE within an explosive cloud covering an industrial unit (which constitutes a congested zone in the sense of the explosion).
It is designed to assess the overpressure associated with an explosion scenario in a consistent and unambiguous way. It enables the engineer to set and justify a severity index when applying the Multi-Energy method.
