ABSTRACT
Operating Safety has become a fully-fledged scientific discipline, based upon the ownership of methods and tools concerning in particular reliability, availability, maintainability and safety. This article details examples of applications: a system with two identical components in active redundancy which compose a set of two components put in parallel and fulfilling the same functions or missions; a system with three inverters with a two-out-of-three voting circuit and the fault-tree for a fire detection system. The last case illustrates the determination of minimal event combinations which lead to the loss of the main function of a system.
