Despite all the safety measures in place for the transport of LPG and the precautions taken to prevent accidents, accidents can still occur.

In the LPG transportation sector, given that LPG is used primarily for residential heating, demand for LPG is high during the winter months. Indeed, in times of economic crisis and declining purchasing power, customers tend to wait until the last minute to schedule a delivery, and the number of partial deliveries (i.e., not filling the tank to capacity, but filling it to 85% of the tank’s capacity to allow for sufficient headspace to accommodate temperature changes) is increasing, which in turn increases the number of deliveries required.
