Optimizing the genetic production of lipids through yeasts by means of genetic engineering processes

Microorganisms currently being studied or already used for lipid production for green chemistry and biodiesel range from bacteria (Streptomyces) to single-cell eukaryotic cells such as algae and yeast. As far as the use of yeast is concerned, two approaches are possible.
