ABSTRACT
An example of the modification by the plasma process of a surface in austenitic stainless steel (316L) is presented here. The selected method involves using the plasma process to deposit a composite silver film/polymer of submicron thickness, whose anti-adhesive effect is then evaluated on a model organism. The ultimate focus of the work is to provide a solid surface modified through the plasma process, which can be used in various industrial activities, such as agribusiness, biomedical, etc.

INTRODUCTION
In this dossier, we present an example of plasma modification of an austenitic stainless steel (316L) surface. The treatment consists of plasma deposition of a silver/polymer composite film of submicron thickness, whose anti-adhesive effect is evaluated on a model micro-organism. The aim of the work is to eventually offer a plasma-modified solid surface that can be used in a wide range of industrial sectors (agri-food, biomedical, etc.).
