The four "pillars" defined above call on a wealth of information to best characterize uncertainty and its possible consequences, and to compare different decision-making options. This is why the application of the precautionary principle by managers, even if it falls within the remit of risk management, has major repercussions on risk assessment itself. In particular, we will analyze the consequences for hazard identification, uncertainty quantification, benefit analysis and vigilance organization.
