2. Ingredients found in anti-pollution products
Despite the absence of standardized tests to assess an ingredient's overall anti-pollution activity, many active ingredients are now used by cosmetics professionals to combat the harmful effects of pollution.
Many of these ingredients are mixtures of active ingredients with different mechanisms of action, or targeting different pollutants. For example, these ingredients are likely to contain the following active ingredients:

active ingredients that prevent the penetration of PM into the skin, or eliminate them from the surface. These are generally polymeric materials (polysaccharides) with non-occlusive film-forming potential, preventing pollutant particles from adhering to the skin surface.
