5. Conclusion
This article describes the theory, principles and techniques of powder particle size analysis. Contrary to appearances, particle size analysis is not a trivial measurement and must be carried out with great care, from sampling to obtaining results, including the appropriate choice of measuring instrument, operating parameters and data processing methods.
The choice of measurement technique depends on the size range to be measured, the information required (type of diameter required, number or mass distribution), the state of the dispersed phase (dry powder, suspension, emulsion, spray), its concentration, the quantity of sample available for analysis, the investment cost of the equipment, the level of training required for personnel, and the health and safety constraints relating to powder handling.
