1. Microwave heating theory
Consisting of an oscillating magnetic field and electric field, electromagnetic waves lie between 300 MHz and 300 GHz in the electromagnetic spectrum, the zone between infrared and radio waves. The frequencies most commonly used for heating in France are 2.45 GHz (household microwave ovens) and 945 MHz, the other frequencies being reserved for telecommunication or detection purposes. The associated wavelength range in vacuum varies from 1 m to 1 mm.
