Any dimensional measurement requires a definition. This is straightforward for particles with simple geometries (such as spheres, cubes, etc.), but problematic for particles with complex shapes, such as non-convex polyhedra or branched particles. These measurements can be used to monitor plant operation or the quality of fragmented products.
