Trying to optimize the ratio λ of magnetic attraction force to fluid drag force generally tends to equate the capture phenomenon with a filtration mechanism. If the ratio λ < 10, this filtration mechanism is dominant and leads to the formation of a deposit of material on the matrix, which increases resistance to the fluid.
