3. Gas treatment
The desorption gases contain all desorbed organic pollutants, dust and parasitic products (e.g. sulfur (S), mercury (Hg), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br)) desorbed at temperatures below or equal to the operating temperatures of the rotary kiln. The purpose of the gas treatment plant is to destroy desorbed organic products by thermal oxidation, physically capture dust and neutralize all other pollutants present in the gases, in order to comply with legal requirements in terms of atmospheric emissions.
