5. CADNA's contribution to various scientific computing methods
Numerical methods used in scientific computing programs fall into three categories:
finished ;
iterative ;
approached.
For each of them, we'll highlight the difficulties of using them, and show how these difficulties can be resolved using precision control and the concepts of discrete stochastic arithmetic, i.e. using CADNA software.
These methods consist of finite, ordered sequences of operations dependent on conditional disconnections. When they are executed on a computer, because of the propagation of rounding errors, two problems arise at the same time:
