ABSTRACT
Magnetic nanostructures have extremely varied shapes, sizes and behaviors, giving way to many potential applications in the industry. This is the reason why they are the subject of developing research activities. The nanometric scale has indeed allowed for the emergence of new component morphologies. This article starts by reviewing the magnetic properties of nanostructures. A general overview is then provided and applications, as well as certain characterization and analysis techniques, are dealt with. To conclude, examples of magnetic nanostructures are presented.

INTRODUCTION
Magnetic nanostructures are the subject of intense research activity due to their potential applications in industry. The nanoscale enables the emergence of new morphologies for the constituents (assemblies of atoms or molecules) that make up materials, resulting in potential new functionalities and, above all, the appearance of new physical or chemical properties. In this contribution, some important and promising examples in the field of magnetic nanostructures are discussed.
