ABSTRACT
Molecular aggregates are particles composed of a limited number of atoms or molecules bound by forces. This term is used when the constituted entities become easily identifiable. A large description of the concept is firstly provided: structure, cohesive forces in the aggregates, existence of a specific physics of aggregates. A discussion on the physico-chemical aspect then deals with the notion of temperature, the physical state of aggregates and presents the foundations for a new type of chemistry.

INTRODUCTION
In physics and chemistry, we talk about atomic or molecular aggregates when atoms or molecules are assembled by forces such that they form entities that can be easily identified. Recently, there has been a veritable explosion in the use of aggregates for nanotechnologies; the demand for miniaturization of electronic components has sparked growing interest in molecular systems on the order of nanometers in size.
