ABSTRACT

A nanocomposite combines two phases with different properties and its reiforcement phase presents a dispersion in the nanometric size. This article , mainly dedicated to nanomaterials with a polymer matrix, describes the different aspects of tehse materials. Their properties are extremely influenced by the level of mixture between the organic matrix and the inoganic phase, which is often a mineral load. The capacity of clay to interact significantly with the chemical species present in an aqueous solution is largely exploited. The structure (morphology, elaboration) of thermal and mechanical properties as well as the various applications of nanocomposites are detailed in depth.

 INTRODUCTION

A nanocomposite material is a two-phase material whose reinforcing phase has a nanometer-scale dispersion. In this report, only polymer matrix nanocomposites are considered. Their structure, properties, and applications are presented in turn.
