Engineering contracts - Introduction

The terms Product and Project are used here in the sense given to them in the usual quality standards. Nevertheless, we sometimes call "project" everything that precedes, and "business" everything that follows the entry into force of an agreement. In this case, a project is managed by a Project Manager (PM), and a deal by a Deal Manager (DM). The CP is appointed to win the business entrusted to him/her, while respecting the objectives assigned to him/her. His mission ends when the Contract becomes executable by the RCA.

We have not retained this terminology, since we are considering engineering in a French context, and the term Program is commonly used to refer to all the criteria that must be met for the Services to be declared compliant and therefore accepted by the Customer. The purpose of this bias is to limit the risk of misunderstandings.
