3. Diagnostic methods by decision structure
There are three main decision-making structures for diagnostic methods: centralized, decentralized and distributed.
The choice of one of these structures depends on the distribution of available information: centralized or decentralized, and the size of the process: small or large.
3.1 Centralized structure
The centralized structure consists of associating a global process model with a single diagnostician (figure 6 ). The latter collects the various process information before making its final decision on the operating state of the process
