4. Truck hydraulics
Unlike road vehicles, in which the steering is assisted by a hydraulic servomotor whose action complements and reinforces that of the driver, on hydrostatically steered forklifts the steering wheel has no mechanical connection with the wheels. It only controls a hydraulic device, a rotary distributor that sends pressurized oil in controlled quantities to the wheel steering cylinder.
