CONWIP provides an appropriate management solution for companies that manufacture diversified products with complex production processes, and who do not wish to enter into an excessive standardization process that would cause them to lose the competitive advantage derived from the specific features of their manufacturing methods.
This workshop control is closely linked to the MRP push-flow planning process. In the MRP/CONWIP association, production orders are composed in terms of references, quantities and requirements dates in traditional push mode, and then piloted in pull mode as soon as they enter the line.
