Establish forecasts and control the progress of a project with MS Project

It is almost certain that during the project, events, new requirements, and constraints will arise and require changes to be incorporated. This means that, from the outset of the project, processes must be defined to manage change requests. A change request does not necessarily mean a change will be made: a request is assessed, analyzed, and decided upon, and depending on the outcome, the changes may or may not be incorporated.

When tracking the progress of your planning, two things will help you the most:

• create a baseline;

• use the appropriate views to see how things are going.

With these two steps, you have the best chance of successfully completing a project.
