1. Stabilizing bioplastics materials
Despite their lower processing temperatures, plastics from compostable renewable resources are inherently less thermally stable. This is usually due to two factors: the catalyst and the chemical structure of these materials.
The first factor is usually managed directly by the biopolyester producer, by complexing the catalyst to incorporate a selectivity that limits depolymerization reactions. However, this step is not always mastered industrially, especially by small-scale producers or new market entrants. We therefore advise you to work with the main players identified. They now have the necessary experience to guarantee stable properties throughout your transformation process.
The second factor can be managed by incorporating secondary thermal stabilizers, more specifically stabilizers with phosphite groups.
