2. Laser diode
Laser diodes are widely used in industry, as they are the easiest to produce. To date, the conversion between electrical energy and light beam yields 30 to 40%, or even 50%, which is far better than the YAG laser, which yields around 5%.
You can find diode lasers on the market for practically the entire visible range. Red or infrared lasers are the least expensive and therefore the most widespread.
The most common, everyday applications are in the audiovisual and IT fields.
