The most complex data to obtain are unit times and influences on series changes. Unlike product dimensions (for storage), which can be obtained without calculation, and quality-related parameters, which are generally obtained by estimation or through the experience of technicians, several techniques can be used to obtain these data.
Empirical data collection: this simple method consists of collecting data from previous projects, from the manufacture of prototypes or previous series linked to the same innovation, from workshop management staff, etc., to quantify these unit and series changeover times in more or less similar past cases.
