The EFQM model is based on the links between strategic approaches, operational activities and results. Although the 2015 version of ISO 9001 advocates this same coherence, the EFQM recommendations for achieving it are more detailed. Examples are given below (taken from the EFQM 2013 model).
Managers are involved with external stakeholders (sub-criterion 1c).
The organization demonstrates flexibility and manages change through structured project management and targeted process improvement (1e).
Strategy is based on an understanding of internal performance and capabilities (2b).
Strategies are translated into processes, projects and structures with the necessary speed (2d).
