Use of reference materials

Accreditation

A statement issued by an authoritative body certifying that an organisation is competent to perform specific conformity assessment activities in accordance with defined normative requirements.

Certified reference material (CRM)

A reference material accompanied by a certificate providing one or more property values, their uncertainties, and their traceability, established according to valid procedures.

CIPM-MRA

Mutual Recognition Arrangement of the International Committee for Weights and Measures, aimed at ensuring international recognition of metrological capabilities and certificates issued by national metrology institutes.
