5. Our advice
Use an iterative approach to risk analysis, applying all the steps in this sheet to the following levels of detail: complete product, system, subsystem and component.
To limit the time and cost of risk analysis in innovation projects, focus your analyses on potentially critical items (functions, components, processes and MoDs), i.e. innovative items that could have serious effects on the customer in the event of failure.
In the early stages of design projects, opt for functional analyses of new features (AdNF) . For advanced stages, opt for "component" analyses (AdNC). But, ideally, combine the two approaches to ensure that your analyses are exhaustive.
