Define the decision cycle in your project

The decision cycle and "who decides what" must be determined as far upstream as possible, at the time of the project charter and in the project management plan. You should therefore :

• identify the project's decision-making bodies: management committee, steering committee, progress meetings, etc;

• clarify the role of these bodies and the role of each of their members: advisory, decision-making, strategic, steering, operational, etc. ;

• define decision-making deadlines.
