Does the moderator have to write everything down on the board? Can't a "session secretary" help?
Writing down all your ideas on the board is a very demanding task, but essential if you want them to be visible to everyone. Be aware that if you ask someone to write while you're moderating, you may soon run into synchronization problems. Practice writing quickly. Don't hesitate to say "Stop" if you're overwhelmed. A word of advice: say out loud what you're writing, as this will keep you on track.
Can't we use Post-it® notes?
Of course you do. You don't need to write anything down, the participants do it, and that makes it easier for you: hand out a pack of Post-it® notes to everyone (make sure you have several packs) and ask them to write their ideas on them, then stick them or have them stuck to the board; you can...
