Project management: distinguishing between leadership and management

The skills required for management and executive functions are different in nature. It is increasingly difficult to find them all in the same person, with the expected level of expertise. In fact, the average complexity of today's projects is on the rise:

• increasingly cross-functional ;

• increasing technological overlap ;

• increased demands, particularly in terms of deadlines and costs, etc.

To manage projects effectively, it will therefore be increasingly necessary to take into account and develop the skills specific to each of the two functions, in order to have the collective know-how essential to the success of an organization's projects, whether public or private.
