Communication activities within a project can have several dimensions:
internal (within the project) and external (customers, suppliers, other projects);
formal (reports, minutes, instructions) and informal (e-mails, memos, discussions);
vertical (hierarchical) and transversal (between professions and resources) ;
official (newsletter, annual report) and unofficial (unofficial targeted communications);
written, oral, verbal and non-verbal.
Managing the various communications will ensure that project information is planned, collected, created, distributed, stored, retrieved and archived in a timely and appropriate manner.
