Slippery references (see above) in national regulations have been rejected by the Conseil d'Etat.
Furthermore, to consider that a new version of a standard would become mandatory without amending the regulations is to sub-delegate regulatory power to a private body (the standards body), which is illegal.
References to the standard without a specific version, such as in a European text or an international regulation, are understood to be references to the standard in its version in force on the date of publication of the document making reference to it.
