7. Special case of ISO management standards adopted at European level
Management standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 serve as the basis for quality and environmental certification respectively. Similarly, the ISO 17000 series of organizational standards for the accreditation of laboratories, certification and inspection bodies, and conformity assessment in general, are harmonized standards.
Finally, other ISO standards, such as ISO 19011 on auditing, or those in the 22300 series concerning safety and resilience, may eventually join the list of harmonized standards.
CE marking (via modules dealing in particular with quality assurance (management)) calls on specialized harmonized standards.
