In a context of exploration in extreme environments (space, seabed, etc.), the challenge is to design innovative systems that are reliable and safe for the user, despite the lack of a priori knowledge of the environment.

These conditions require designers to be open to new experience and knowledge . In many cases, this means dealing with the complexity of the system to be designed, because it is used in a partially known environment. This complexity is fully reflected in today's technological innovations:
