6. Decide without getting bogged down: a pragmatic approach
Goal: Move forward without getting lost in analysis—and without rushing through the steps.
At this stage, the same comment often comes up: “OK, we get it. But what do we do on Monday morning?” That’s a good question. Because the real risk, after a thorough analysis, isn’t making a mistake. It’s inaction. Too many constraints, too many options, too much caution. And in the end, nothing comes of it.
Even highly astute business leaders can become paralyzed: fear of making a mistake; fear of an audit; fear of the ratchet effect. Meanwhile, business teams are experimenting on their own, without guidance, using tools that are officially prohibited. It’s the worst of all worlds.
