« Steering means translating strategy into operational action rules". . The logistics manager must apply this principle to logistics activities:

• set objectives (or performance targets) by analyzing value-creating processes;

• select and implement the resources needed to achieve them (financing, equipment, personnel, etc.), in other words, identify the most appropriate performance levers ;

• control, via indicators, operation and results of the system in order to make adjustments to achieve objectives.
