Before explaining how hospital logistics work, it is important to place the hospital in its context.
supply chain. Hospitals play a key role in patient care, involving a wide range of players. In order to provide care, it relies on suppliers of industrial goods and services, among which pharmaceutical companies play an important role. The latter deliver their products via logistics service providers, pharmaceutical agents in charge of managing their flows (warehousing, order preparation, etc.), who then mobilize carriers to ensure delivery. We'll go into more detail on the role of these players (part 4), but it's important at this stage to understand that the hospital is part of an integrated supply chain.
